Founded by Frederick M. Spight Jr. in 2022 he brings his wealth of knowledge and expertise to benefit a wide range of clients. He has served as a law professor and Director and of The Entrepreneurship and Nonprofit Clinic at the University of Alabama School of Law where they assisted small businesses, nonprofits, start-ups and entrepreneurs with their transactional legal needs. They worked on a broad range of matters from entity formation and selection; intellectual property, licensing agreements, contract negotiations, shareholder agreements, equity agreements as well as acquiring tax-exempt status for a myriad of nonprofits.  He also served as Policy Director of Alabama Appleseed where he drafted and oversaw the passage of legislation that helped thousands of low income Alabamians. Furthermore, he was a part of the initial class of John Lewis Fellows at Legal Services Alabama where he created the John Lewis Community Growth Project, a transactional practice aimed at the Legal Services client population. Grounded in community economic development Spight Law Group was founded to provided holistic transactional services to all types of clients at various stages of growth.

He has researched and published on hybrid entities, social entrepreneurship as well as worker co-operatives.

He is a graduate of Morehouse College, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa and Wake Forest University School of Law.
